Appleton 12 years old and worthy park single I injoyed both but thought worthy park was a bit Appleton just didn't wow me I enjoyed it but I didn't understand what all fuss was about.. because people say it's best u can buy in that price range and it's honestly I thought it was overrated..I think mount gay xo is better but obviously it's my a. Just finished a side by side comparison of the New blend of Appleton 12 Yr vs the the former blend.
Also compared the new blend of Mount Gay’s Black Barrel vs its’s former blend. Well Appleton 12 yr, is $45, and Mount Gay XO, is $ Shouldn't you compare it to Appleton 15 yr at $80? Like Loading While I prefer more mellow rums, I can see a scotch drinker loving this. There is a bit of a smoky character coming from what I imagine is charred oak and burnt sugar.

Nice story….. I've only had Kraken and Sailor Jerry neat both are spiced rums , and while they're passable, I'm sure they are NOT representative of high quality rum. OdysseusUnbound I think most people here drink a variety of spirits and alcohol, though the forum centers around whisky. Sign me up! Worth a second. I haven't tried the Smith and Cross yet as there are none available around me, but heard good things not very sweet, very strong.
Its hard to find and pricy, but you can still get it at rum auctions.
