Ace in gay terms

The asexual spectrum (abbreviated as acespec, ace spec, or ace-spec)[1] refers to sexual orientations that are asexual or are closely related to asexuality. Identities under the asexual umbrella are closely connected as part of a broad community.[1][2][3] The identities below are listed alphabetically, following asexual itself. Asexual refers to people who do not experience sexual attraction.

Asexuality is a wide, colorful spectrum. Here, three people who identify as "ace" (or asexual) explain what the orientation means to them. Ace people who experience romantic attraction or occasional sexual attraction might also use terms such as gay, bi, lesbian, straight and queer in conjunction with asexual to describe the direction of their romantic or sexual attraction.

To be "ace" or asexual means one doesn't feel much interest in sex or sexual attraction, though the orientation does exist on a spectrum — a romantic spectrum. To be acting in allyship means that you are actively working to dismantle structures of oppression. There is no right or wrong way to be a queer or trans person and coming out is not a possibility for everyone. Some trans women reject this term because they have always been female, regardless of sex assignment.

Demi sexual and romantic An umbrella term used to describe people who may only feel sexually or romantically attracted to people with whom they have formed an emotional bond. This poll is closed to new votes. I view ace as a very flexible word.
